Knocked-up

June 19, 2007

Debbie: I’m not gonna go to the end of the fucking line, who the fuck are you? I have just as much of a right to be here as any of these little skanky girls. What, am I not skanky enough for you, you want me to hike up my fucking skirt? What the fuck is your problem? I’m not going anywhere, you’re just some roided out freak with a fucking clipboard. And your stupid little fucking rope! You know what, you may have power now but you are not god. You’re a doorman, okay. You’re a doorman, doorman, doorman, doorman, doorman, so… Fuck You! You fucking fag with your fucking little faggy gloves.
Doorman: I know… you’re right. I’m so sorry, I fuckin’ hate this job. I don’t want to be the one to pass judgement, decide who gets in. Shit makes me sick to my stomach, I get the runs from the stress. It’s not cause you’re not hot, I would love to tap that ass. I would tear that ass up. I can’t let you in cause you’re old as fuck. For this club, you know, not for the earth.
Debbie: What?
Doorman: You old, she pregnant. Can’t have a bunch of old pregnant bitches running around. That’s crazy, I’m only allowed to let in five percent black people. He said that, that means if there’s 25 people here I get to let in one and a quarter black people. So I gotta hope there’s a midget in the crowd.

My first Jimmy

June 4, 2007

Jimmy Choo that is..

I’ve just been wearing them around the house, have not ventured out into pot-hole and cracked-up streets of New York. I’m actually afraid to. When you’ve spend a lot of ‘dosh’ on a pair of shoes and they feel so fragile on your feet you really should wear them for standing and sitting occasions only. This baby is staying in the box for now!

My mom can’t believe that much money was actually spent on a pair of shoes. Like any Indian mother one look at that and she’ll say she can make it at home.

Have a good weekend everyone!Sxx

I was welcomed home with open Arms!

April 22, 2007

Met Surita at Central Park and when I got to the entrance they greeted me with Open Arms even without a registered printout! I’ve never met more Singaporeans outside of Singapore in my life! I was too involved getting my Char Kueh Teow and Carrot Cake fix. Tasted just like what I would have at home… Bless you Hawkers! I LOVE YOU! The weather turned from cool to scorching hot with the aroma of carrot cake and fried hokkien mee in the air along with the hordes of Chinese Singaporeans it really felt creepy like I woke up and here I am back in home. Some of the locals have been working overseas for over 5 to 6 years some were even away for 14 years.

I wasn’t planning to stick around for Kit Chan and the other Singaporean band to play. Even when I was in Singapore I never was interested in local music. Most of them were Chinese anyway and I just had very little interst in it. There were one or two English singers that I thought were actually good but with our population ratio being majority Chinese they every really got much popularity.

Anyway pictures…

Singapore Day NYC07

BUGGER! Just found out about this today and tired getting tickets and ITS SOLD OUT!!!
Its a sad day for one Singaporean Girl. I badly need a chicken rice fix!

Anyway I realised that I’ve not been Blogging for some time now and I don’t think people even missed me. Hee hee Its OK, I’m not oblivious that this is probably view by 5 to 10 people per week. They probably got me from their searching for Karma Surta or Makan Sutra anything with a Sutra in it. I doubt you’ll get me with just Sheila.

Anyway there’s not much to blog about really. Been through some small changes with work but nothing poignant. Have not traveled much this past month. My friend Marc is in town and I’m looking forward to seeing him tomorrow.

Check It! and let me know…

Curry House

March 12, 2007

curry_house1.jpg Hello Maties! Its been a very quick week but a busy one as well. We had a little work gathering last Wednesday for someone who is sick with cancer. He used to work with almost half of everyone in my office previously in a different company. A little concert was put together at The Cutting Room. It ended up being rammed with people and the whole night was a complete blur. I remember sitting down with my coat to go home at 1am too tipsy for a Wednesday night.

However before the week was through, Garth and I decided to organise a little get-to-gether for Nico and Romina. (This will be our third farewell gathering.) I guess we just can’t get enough of them and we’re going to miss them terribly.

ABC News: Al Gore Will Not Only Run, but He Can and Will Win in 08

Sorry for being a tad bit political. Its so not like me to be this interested in presidential issues. I suppose the reason why I’m just a little more involved is because I SEE what a mess the current president has made and I listen to so many Americans affected and how they are still passionate about the future of this country. People here have so much substance and passion for their country’s future that I can’t help myself but feel drawn to it too! Wish I can get a chance to vote!!

Just a taste of what you see on American Television

February 15, 2007

You’d be damn right sure that no Singaporean prime minister would every condone this kind of funny pokes. But in a really light hearted way I love American television especially the Daily Show which finds humor within politics.

A clip of Joel Surnow and FOX News’ conservative response to The Daily Show, The 1/2 Hour News Hour, has hit the tubes and needless to say, the only thing funny is how bad it is.

Dinner Party and Holiday Shopping

December 7, 2006

Its starting to get pretty cold here so Surita and I drove down to New Jearsey to Woodbury Commons to get some much needed winter jacket and boots! Got myself a pair of ultra sweet Kenneth Cole boots for $140 buckaroo’s. – Oh well it was much needed. Was very sweet of Surita to drive me and follow me around the shops, I have to admit I did go pretty crazy there as its THE place to go shopping whiles in New York.

Boots

Tomorrow Friday the 8th will have 13 people over for our long awaited curry night. I’ve put myself in the daunting task of cooking for 15 people. So did massive grocery shopping yesterday. Something which is just a few blocks away from home in Singapore but here had to take two trains and 45 mins to get to China Town. *Sigh* Why must things be so expensive here??… Anyway it was WAY cheaper in China Town and didn’t cost me much to get 2lb Prawns, 4lb chicken, 2lb pork and 3lb fish. (about $20) Yes shit loads of food to cook today. Felt like my mom when I was cutting and preparing meat and seafood last night. I silently thanked God for the person who invented Zip Lock bags. As it comes in very handy for situations like this where you have to store meat and seafood in the fridge along with our normal food and it stopped the stinking. *sigh* the silent appreciation to that indeed!
